The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education is a research-practice partnership and network of peer institutions dedicated to improving outcomes in faculty recruitment, development, and retention. Under COACHE, more than 300 colleges, universities, and state systems have strengthened their capacity to identify the drivers of faculty success and implement informed changes.
An Employee Resource Group serves as a resource for members and the University by fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with the institutional mission, vision, goals, business practices, and objectives. In other words, it’s a group of faculty and staff with a common purpose coming together to provide opportunities to connect with and support each other.

Dr. Sara Dolan
Associate Dean for Professional Development in the Graduate School
Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience
As the associate dean in the graduate school, Dr. Dolan works closely with graduate students to help them develop “personally, professionally, and spiritually.” This holistic approach means she recognizes a focus on the whole person is an essential part of their maturation process. She also works closely with faculty who serve as graduate program directors as well as with staff across campus to leverage and develop programs for all students, including our international and online/hybrid graduate student populations.

Faculty Development
